– a front garden to accommodate two cars. Environmentally conscientious, porous, stabilized gravel driveway. Maximum planting area and preservation of existing trees.
Our client wanted a contemporary design that would not be at odds with the traditional house. We used timeless English limestone setts for the pathway with sandstone bull-nose edging. The driveway is stabilized gravel giving a flat and firm surface that you can walk on even in high heels without sinking in. We were mindfull not to damage the roots of the ancient oak tree that adjoins the drive. The stabilized gravel option meant a minimum of excavation and maximum permeability to reduce run-off and stress to the tree.
Our client was extremely pleased with the end result and said we had re-vitalized the feel of the whole house.
